niacin (advicor) dry mouth

I have noticed about an hour after taking Advicor 1000/20 my mouth gets so dry, not thirsty really, just a weird dry feeling..
Anyone else get this?

Yes, I get the same feeling some times (i'd almost acutally rather have a small flush rather than that some times as it hard to get rid of.

Anyone have any solutions to this....lots of water does not seem to work!

Not so sure you can blame this on niacin... after all, Advicor is an extended-release niacin / lovastatin combination and likely has it's own unique side effects unlike any other medication.

I've been taking 3000 mg of Niaspan each day for the last 20 months without any dry-mouth... so maybe it's from the statins or a combination of the two medications.

Come to think of it... I don't even remember getting dry mouth from any of the statins during the 6 years I took statins... and that includes Pravachol, Baychol, and Lipitor.

Sounds like this is just unique to Advicor.
