Still curious about how long an excessive consumption of sodium takes to deplete from body when you drop your intake to under 500mg per day? One day? Two or three? Or a week? I really have no idea!

Jr,
Am happy to hear you found the info you needed re
Avapro effectiveness. Do keep in mind that our motto here is "Everyone's different" so the "up to two weeks" may or may not apply to you...but it is a starting point!
As far as the sodium goes, I don't know the answer to that one, either....I suspect it depends on one's kidney function which can differ quite a bit depending on your age, general health, alcohol habits, etc. Drinking the standard 8 glasses of water/day may help, as well as eating a diet with a good mix of calcium, magnesium, and potassium. The best "help" is prevention,

. FYI, I overdosed on bacon, once---we won't get into the nitty gritty here, but I did swell up like a balloon. A friend of mine, who is quite knowlegable (and not into health foods, fads, alternative health, etc) told me to eat parsley because it is a natural diabetic.
