Arrow Taking acne med with milk

I'm on an antibiotic (minocycline) and I know you are supposed to take it on an empty stomach but thats pretty hard for me to do. Does not taking it on an empty stomach or drinking milk with it have any effect on whether or not the antibiotic works??? Thanks. Can't find any research saying yay or nay.

Re: Taking acne med with milk

My dermatologist told me that taking it on an empty stomach is a myth, however, she did also tell me that taking it with dairy (calcium) makes it less effective, so to stay away from milk, yogurt, etc. when taking it, but you CAN take it with food. Hope that helps!

From what I've seen, minocycline is something you CAN take with food. It's tetracycline that you have to take on an empty stomach.

And I agree with Atti. From what I've seen, dairy products make it hard for the body to absorb the mino.
