Yes my stomach did feel uncomfortable for a short time.
(( I decided that it must be a soreness from raw patches in the stomach lining left by the bugs .)) Silly maybe..... but the idea kept me focused on taking those awful medications, followed by large doses of cough mixture.
I think its just from habit, but I still dont like anything tight around my waist,
even though there is no bloating or flatulence.
Now then girls, do take notice of the following.
When I had my bloods taken to check for H. pylori my Doc did a full screen. Guess what,.... my cholesterol is sky high.
It was not a fasting blood test, even so it was very high.
After much research I have discovered that there have been medical studies which prove an H. pylori infection will cause a raised cholesterol level.
Cholesterol levels will drop after a longish period of time if the treatment for H.pylori was successful.
As for my cold.......... much better thank you......

Hey Boz,
Glad to hear the cold is much better and that you're still feeling well. How long did you have stomach problems before they diagnosed H Pylori? Also, given that you're from England like niecsey, did you only take a week's worth of the Triple Therapy as well? What drugs did you take? I take 2 amoxicillin, twice a day, one clarithromycin twice a day, and 1 prilosec daily. I'm supposed to this for TWO WEEKS. I read a study: http://www.nelm.nhs.uk/Record%20Viewing/vR.aspx?id=579194 that says that one week of Triple Therapy is as good as two...why they have us on two in the U.S. is beyond me...torture, I tell you!
High cholesterol, huh? Interesting. I'm also surprised that they did a blood test to see if your H Pylori was still there. I have heard that once you test positive for H Pylori in your blood, it will always be there. Supposedly they're supposed to do a breath or stool test to full determine if the bacteria is gone. But maybe they don't do that in England? At any rate, i see my GI doc at the beginning of November. I'll see how I feel then! I still have suspicions that this could be my gallbladder, but it's hard to know when all the symptoms are so similar....
Thanks for all of your info, Boz! I know that niecsey and I appreciate it!
