Hey Mike,
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but have you asked your dr. about getting on an anti-depressent for your depression?
Everyone has some form of depression when they are newley sober. Whether they came off pills or alcohol, their brain is still trying to stabalize it's chemicals....and depression can be a major issue.
Maybe you've tried it before, or your already on some...but i figured i'd suggest it if not. You may only need it for a short time, and there is no reason to feel ashamed or bad about having to take it. It's all part of the process of recovery.....and anti-depressents are part of it if suffering from depression.
I myself suffer from depression even without w/d's. So they're majorly bad when w/d'ing. So i upped my dose for the time being, and will go back down when i feel good again.
Just a suggestion and I hope you hang in there and stay sober.
Bcuz if we're honest with ourselves, we're worse when on pills/alcohol...everything is worse. Depression, anxiety, frustration. It may go away VERY temporarily, but it is always waiting around the corner and is much more intensified than if we were sober. So remember that, and remember that alcohol is a depressent, and will not help you feel better in the end. God Bless
