The results of tests are all negative

I was in hospital for 3 weeks undergoing different tests when I was first diagnosed. The skin biopsy confirmed I had dermatomyositis but all the other tests have been ok . It's only been the last 3 months that I have been having muscle problems - It's the not knowing that's hard, it could be something else causing the problems but the type of problems I have been having seem to be typical of the illness . All I take now is paracetamol , I suffered from throat infections when I took azathioprine and I had various side effects from the prednisolone . Not sure where I go from here.

there are a lot of other autoimmune diseases such as, fibromyalgia, MS, and Lupus among others. you should do some research. all these diseases have similar symptoms with a few difference. initially i was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, then they thought it might be MS, finally myositis. the difference was the rash on my chest and the choking, symptoms geared to myositis. drugs used to treat myositis have a lot of side effects, so if they are not helping you ask for something else. i would suggest seeing a rheumatologis. good luck.
