Re: Any help?
Hello Jason
Buddy, please take a deep breath and let it out slooooowly. Do it. Now do it again. Do it.
Now take some Immodium AD... it has a calming agent in it. And take your morphine... it will slow down the withdrawal. Please try these things as they will help you temporarily.
Jason, we all know you are suffering now and we are sorry. Some practical steps can be taken. I would suggest that the speaking engagement be cancelled right now... give the people time to regroup with another speaker. Let them know you are having a problem with your medications. Plan now to call the sub service tomorrow and tell them the same... you will be absent because you are having a reaction from medications and will be out for Monday at least and will call them after a doctor's appointment. I am a firm believer in full disclosure to those who need to know.. mate, family, close friends and medical professionals. Until you have conferred with the doctor, work doe snot have to be part of the full disclosure circle. One thing at a time, okay?
The suggested hot baths and showers are a must. They are calming. If the anxiety rises again, get back in the hot water again. Use a heating pad on the back and legs to help calm the pain and restlessness. try and get some warm milk down... I hate it, but it helped me very much. Read "The Sample Home detox," second thread on this board, and implement as many of the helpful things that you can. If you can cry, let it out. Hopefully it will exhaust you so that you can rest even a bit.
If you feel like you can not wait until Monday, then get yourself to an ER right now. NO doctor is going to judge you. Tell the truth, ask for help until you can meet with your doctor Monday morning. They will help you.
Jason, I know you probably feel as though you are going out of your mind and maybe even dying. Neither is a truth, only a perception of a brain in withdrawal. force yourself to understand those words... you are not going crazy or dying. You are in withdrawal. And help is available. It is your decision whether to wait until Monday or to get to ER. Personally, having been where you are, I would go to ER. And Jason? I have been where you are and am not any longer. I want you to know that. MANY of us are not there any longer. We are okay. For now, let's stick to the immediate issues of getting you calmer and more comfortable. Try the suggestions from your friends here and read that detox thread. Cancel any immediate engagements and concentrate only on yourself for now. Come back and share your decision about help care and let us know how you are.
With hope and care

Re: Any help?
Hey all....
Well...I made it to Monday. Had to take off today of course and took off last night which worked out ok. I am feeling a tad better though...which is good. My lower back is killing me though, but I can handle that. I do feel depressed right now, but I expected that for sure. My wife is very unhappy with me. Last night right in the middle of my w/ds she decided to come in the room and fight with me over this. She never wanted me to get on pain meds in the first place. I understand that, just dont think her timing was very good. Anyway, I am feeling better but not good. I called my dr. this morning, like I was told to do on Friday. That was 2 hours ago and they never called me back yet! What to do? And say I do get to go in today...what then? Ahh...so confused! Anyway, hope all are doing as well as they can be right now. Stay strong! Stay sooo strong!

Re: Any help?
Well my Dr. finally called and get this...their answer was MORE ENDOCET!!! Thats right folks...they wanted to give me more Endocet. Wow...talk about temptation striking a blow coming in to hopefully the end of my wds. It took EVERYTHING in me to say..NO......the nurse just sat on the other end of the phone confused. I said "I just went through unreal wds from Friday to now, it showed me how controlling this med is and I NEVER want to go through that again!!! EVER!!!" I told her I wanted to try Clonidine for the rest of my wd process to get this out of my system and not have them again. She talked to the dr and she told me to just go the ER. Thanks! So in other words...if you wont take more of our demon drugs...get out of our hair! Ok...fine....thats what I am about to do. First test...passed! Now...the rest of my life to get to!
On my way to the ER folks! God speed all!

Re: Any help?
Jason --hopefully when you read this you are back from the ER and everything went well. They have seen this before and they HAVE to help you. Isnt it amazing that the DR prescribed MORE drugs when you just confided in them that you had a problem. HUGE SUCCESS point by saying no. Now you have cut off the source. that is good, but dont forget there will be MORE tempting times around the corner. It happens so fast and you need to create a working plan on how to deal with them. Lets worry about that later, let work on getting clean together RIGHT NOW. When you get back and read this, I want you to go out and exercise --you are saying SCREW YOU, but you must get air and make a sweat. It will help you rest. Try your best not to nap during the day, save the sleep for the night time. I know that sucks, because we dont get any sleep anyway, but try that it may work. Hour by Hour, day by day, week by week.
Let us know whats up
