Gobble Gobble ~ Day Four

Well, here I am on day 4, and while I'm feeling wonderfully clean, the pain is absolutely incredible! While I am still thinking that this Sub stuff is a wonder drug, I am quickly learning that it doesn't look like it's gonna be the pain reliever that I had hoped. Ugh. Now what? Even the doc has told me that he doesn't think I'll be able to live thru the pain that I experience - and I honestly don't think so either....
PLEASE guys n gals....if anybody has any other suggestions, I'd be very receptive to hear them!
OH....
And......

HAPPY TURKEY DAY TO ALL!!

I hope this post finds everyone enjoying whatever and whoever they enjoy most!!

And on our way to a cleaner us.....

Hey Tat,

I'm glad you are feeling wonderfully clean. That is such a good feeling. So sorry for your pain though. Have you ever tried Lidocaine patches? I have a lot of pain at the base of my neck. A coworker gave me a box of these patches she had and I tried one on the neck last night. It felt cold and nasty at first, then it did help with the pain. Can use up to 3 patches at a time and they last about 12 hours. The best thing is they are not opiates. Maybe they would give you some relief. They are prescription, so if you've never tried them before ask your doctor about them. My friend had them leftover from her daughter who passed away this summer from breast cancer. She was using them for pain in the hip that the cancer was causing and they did give her some relief also.
Best wishes,
JB

Hiya Granny.... Yes, I have used them before (I still have a case of them in my closet), but however, my pain is WAY too intense. Unfortunately they don't even take the edge off for me. =(
Thanks for the input though - it is always appreciated!
Hope you're having a nice Thanksgiving.

Tat,
You know, with chronic pain, there may be no other option than to take something. Sounds like you really need to sit down with your Doc and discuss the options. There are drugs out there that aren't opiates that help with pain. It's ultimately your call because I know that being clean is a very good feeling. But you can't live in pain forever.. Just my humble suggestion..

Hey G8tr.... Believe it or not, I think I have tried just about evvvverything out there. After I got clean last time, (3 yrs. ago), I told every doc that I saw, "NO OPIATES", ad they tried everything accordingly. =( I have even plastered 5 or 7 Lidocaine patches all over the painful areas with hopes of sometihng taking the edge off, but to no avail..
I dunno......
Just dunno.......

Some of the stuff they have tried.... (this list is CRAZY!):
-Zonegran
-Neurontin
-Lyrica
-Utram
-Ultracet
-Celebrex
-Vioxx
-Relafin
-Doxycyline
-Skelaxin
-Topomax
-Toprol
-Flexeril
-Zanaflex
-Soma

Yeah, no s**t..... NONE of these helped.... There are more too - I'm just having a little brain fart right now....
