Re: Zebeta 1.2mg + HCT 6.5mg: my last hope
I experienced the same side effects with Coversyl 4mg, Atacand 8mg, Cozaar 50mg and another ACEI but I don't remember it. The side effects were: heavey legs, was tired all the day long, irregular heart rate, dizzy, lightheaded and sweating. All those side effects started in the first day of using any of the above meds, I stopped after few days. I don't know if the side effects would disappear as my body adjust to the medication, I just couldn't wait longer.
What about your experience?
Thanks for help,
Michael

Actually, I am really tired right now... but I'm not sure if that's because of the ACE. I don't know... maybe I'm just used to living sub par. The cough was extreme with Coversyl, it was becoming painful. I hope Atacand will be better.
I hope you feel better with Efexor and with Zebeta+
Please don't give up...

Re: Zebeta 1.2mg + HCT 6.5mg: my last hope
I try to do my best to find the right combination, after what I have experienced I think that my best combination is 2.5mg of Zebeta + 6.5mg of HCT + 2.5mg of Norvasc, with the possibility of increasing Norvasc to 5 mg and the HCT to 12.5 if needed. Of course I have to talk with my dr about that. I'm going to see him next Saturday, to check my doses of all the medications including Efexor.
About the cough, many of the people who experienced cough on ACEs would do fine on ARBs. My father had a very bad cough, all day long, when he was on ACEs and when he switched to ARBs (Cozaar and Atacand) it was greatly reduced.
Good luck and please let me know when you get better on Atacand.

I hope you will post an update after your doctors' visit.
I read an article the other day about seasonal variations in blood pressure. It made me think of you. Apparently, regardless of where we live, be it warmer or colder climates, we are bound to experience an elevation in blood pressure in wintertime. All age groups are affected, including children. The reason for this is thought to be mainly the change in the environmental temperature. Our bodies react by constricting the blood vessels, which results in a decreased cardiac output. We are not as active. Urinary excretion of salt was found to be higher in the winter. This is attributed to an increased calorie intake due to the demand for higher calories needed for the body heat production. Interestingly, the variations in blood pressure are greater in thin people. It is thought that fat in obese people provides insulation and helps keep the body heat in. The variation in blood pressure in also higher in older people. The main thing to remember is that treatment strategies should account for these variations and the meds should be adjusted in the spring and fall. This article made me wonder about the recent elevations in my blood pressure. I needed more meds.
take care,
flowergirl

Re: Zebeta 1.2mg + HCT 6.5mg: my last hope
flowergirl,
I have been experiencing this effect since I was diagnosed with hypertension. Although that winter here is like summer in many places of the US, but it's very cold for us . I see tourists walk in the streets with very light clothes, while we are freezing . Anyway, in summer I don't have any problems and I can go to eat a large pizza with my 1 Liter Coke. My readings would range from 120/80 to 130/90, in winter with a very strict diet it's at least 140/95 and last winter I got a reading like 140/110. I become more depressed because of this fact, also we are not using heating systems in our houses which make the blood pressure increases all the time.
I think that in summer I would reduce my medication. It's not me alone, my parents also have this problem.
Thanks for your help,
Michael
