Question Best way to keep "things" moving?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

As if me having low ferritin wasn't bad enough, now I find out my 16 yo does as well! Hers was a 4!

So, doc is prescribing px iron tabs.

My question is......how do you all "keep things moving"? What can be done to safely, naturally counteract the constipating effects of the iron?

TIA!

You can add a stool softener OTC along with the iron. The higher the iron content the less constipation. It may not be a problem if you are on a script. FLFLOWERGIRL

Miralax is the newest stool softener on the market and it works differently and safe for every age ...young to old. It is a powder that you mix with any liquid. It has become available over the counter and it works without cramps.

Senna or fybrogel usually helps! Or as recommended by my mother-in-law syrup of figs (urgh). Also try to drink plenty of water. Also plenty of fibre in your diet.
