Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 2

Hello all
Just catching up with my reading. My dermatologist is still convinced I have eczema. I get so frustrated with her, She will not answer any questions.
I think they have a chart in the back and throw a dart at it. I have talked to countless people that have eczema and none of them can relate. They all say that their skin itches then forms bums red and white then if they scratch it gets red and irritated. I told the doctor that this never itches until it gets real red.
I told her that I do have eczema on my ankles and it come maybe once every three or four years. The area itches like he-- I scratch it then it breaks open and weeps. Once I put some cream on it it goes away. This usually lasts a week. I still haven't made the appointment with the allergist yet to get my immune system tested for fungal response.
I started talking to a health practitioner. He made a lot of sense. But anyone can when they know a little more about something then you. Anyway I started eating healthy, to the extreme. I am going through junk food withdraw. Vegetables for lunch, no processed foods I thought chocolate grew in Switzerland. I will stick with it if it makes this go away. He says my skin is filtering out all the crap I eat and I need to eat more fruits and vegetables.
He gave me a list of herbs and supplements that cost over a hundred bucks. I asked if their was some type of blood test that would give me a better idea of what I need. He said that their are tests but no insurance would cover it and it would cost more than the supplements.
Well I'll try it and if it works I'll have to find better prices.
enough yammering for today.

Uptown, in neuralgia it is important to stop what caused the neuralgia (sickness or anything else) before treating the pain... just for you to know, good luck!! Keep in touch!

Nax - Well, that's the million dollar question. What caused it? No one seems to know. None of this makes any sense at all. - Are you of English decent?

If it's some sort of virus/bacteria, then it only affects certain people. Otherwise this would be more widespread. There must be some correlation between all of our genetic makeup that made us susceptible to this and not other people. If it's not genetics then it's possible that we all were exposed to something earlier on in life that made our bodies respond this way. The only viruses I've had that I know about are the flu and chicken pox.

But what? This makes no sense. Reading these boards, people have had this for a while now. It seems like someone would have figured out what it was by now. What kind of bacteria or virus could it be? Reading online I've seen people who have had this since the freakin' '80s. So it's not something new. So is this thing undetectable? Or are we just not looking in the right places? Ie- are we not being tested for the right things? The only thing that makes any sense to me is that we have some vague immunity to something but not enough. Which still makes no sense, because you either are immune to something or you're not.

On the other side is the psychological aspect. Is this all in our minds and nothing else? It's possible, but I just can't believe it.

Willy- let us know if the diet thing works. Are you of English decent?

osoworried- let us know if anything works.

I am going crazy over this. It's still early, but the gabapentin hasn't done anything for me yet. I don't feel any difference in anything at all. Mentally or physically.

Re: Chronic Red Burning Scrotum Thread 2

uptown- i also had chicken pox as a kid..

antobiotics looked like they were working this morning, then this afternoon they were all red again.. although interestingly the right testicle is now completely red, and the left (where it started is a hot pink i would say).

this is a week treatment so will keep you all updated..

turning into a hypochondriac, really cant be a good..

new guesses, HPV no test in men, what if we have a mild form of that?

and HSV blood tests apparently aren't that accurate as the antibodies fluctuate..

or maybe its something new...

i just hope its not contagious, does anyone have any proof that its not..

im assuming we all have the same thing, all though it could be entirely different..
