Runners Asthma - anybody got any tips?

started running at the start of December and was really pleased with my starting time - being able to run for 2-4 minutes without stopping straight away.

then 2 weeks in I developed a cough and a wheeze which has lasted for 5 weeks.

i took 4 weeks off running and that hasn't made any difference.

I went to the doctors today and he said I had "runners asthma" or something like that.

Anybody heard of it and anybody got any advice.

I don't have asthma. But I've got asthma like symptoms when I run.

Kind regards

I believe that it is called "Exercise Induced Asthma" - and you are supposed to take a puff or two off a rescue inhaler (like Albuterol, Ventolin, etc.) 20 minutes before exercising.

Best of luck to you!
