Hi one sad guy. I am female : ) Remember that I am new to this and still learning. Adrenal fatigue can occur for different reasons such as when someone is dealing with a chronic illness or has experienced multiple stressors. It sounds like your schedule is very hectic with little down time.
The adrenals, thyroid, and other hormones are intricately related. I agree with Sentence Doing about also having your thyroid checked. Ask to have the Free T3, Free T4 (besides the T3 and T4) and thyroid antibodies checked in addition to the normal panel. They are not usually done but are necessary for a comprehensive view. Even if your results are normal, they may not be normal for you. It is also possible to have normal results when antibodies are present and treatment is warranted.
One book that has information on adrenal fatigue is "Adrenal Fatigue: 21st Century Stress Syndrome" by James Wilson. The author believes that adrenal fatigue is common.
Look into the saliva testing. You may want to ask a compounding pharmacy about doctors in your area who do this testing. They will be more open to help. Learn as much as you can so you can be your best advocate.
You know you better than anyone. If you know something is wrong, do whatever it takes to find out. Keep us posted okay?
