Help, Anyone?
Where the hell do i start this post?
Right, I have been off work since June 2007!
My symptoms are this:-
Spasms in me arms, hands, neck, shoulders and legs and occasionally eyes/brows.
No strength in all of the above.
Loss of cordination, balance, dizzyness feelings
Inability to lift/carry anything for any time because of the above.. I can carry heavy ish weights, but the inevitable will happen, like today sitting down, randomly a full cup of coffee went flying over me for the meelionth time.
I get shivers down me spine, like some one has walked over your grave almost constantly.
I have constant pain in both me shoulders/arms that varies between a burning sensation, and some one applying the vulcan death grip or stabbing pain.
I also get shooting/pulsing pains down both.
My neck feels stiff and unconfortable I cant hold it properly and keepe having to crick it, to get any joy about not feeling like me neck is about to explode.
I cant sit down for to long as I will either spazz out or the pain will be too much.
I cant stand/walk for too long as will begin to do the above or seize up.
I get pins and needles in me arms hands feet legs, and where no man should get pins and needles!
Recently me sight in me right eye gets blurred.
I also hallucenate, and I cant always turn me neck left.
Treatments so far:-
Blood Tests in July, not sure what was check but don't have diabetes and everything else was clear what ever that means
Referal to Neck specialist, via GP and NHS intermediary Physio. Had MRI
and I have a Protrusion at c6-c7, but it isnt compacting on the spine also have deformed never at same junction but again isnt causing any problems.
Have had nerve conduction studies and EMG ( i think its called this) test, me nerves in the cardio throassic area are functioning ok according to the test.
Neck specialist has discharged me... and said to get meself to GP for a neurologist, referal. they also said it may be MS but i don't have the symptoms in the right order and couldnt confirm it?!??!???
Its been 9 months and no one has a clue what the heck is wrong with me, iam currently on a diet of 50 mg amytriptalene( 2x25mg), 50 mg tramadol, and Paracetamol, to even begin to get me to fuvntion, but it doesnt work.. the side affects are horrendous.. slow metabolism, bloating, hunger pangs. constant headaches ...
Iam at the end of my tether.. I wont even begin to go in to the work/insurance/DWP/MP/DLA REJECTION/ everything else nightmare. Lets just say at the end of Feb my income was literally ZILCH!
It has been rectified to some extent ie , i should be getting Incap short term now that work have located where they have paid my Ni contributins, as it wasnt to my NI Number. And after 3+attempts it has been located! woo ****** hoo!
Anyway... Seriously, does anyone have an idea what could be wrong, where i should be checking out, what i should be doing? I don't qualify for owt else benefit wise either.
Has any one been to see neurologists? Iam banking I'll end up with a CT Scan but then what?!?!?
has anyone had experience with these symptoms? know what helped what didnt?
Me doing some pigeon research, have narrowed it down to, Lyme disease, huntingtons, ME, MS, Motor Neurone or a very severe case of the DT's! but it doesnt fit anything else.. got any ideas
Iam scared and at the moment staring at the bottom of a very large abyss... ANYONE HELP ME?
NB.. I had suspected Thoracic Out let from Sept 05-March 06
and Post Viral Syndrome Jan- March 2003
I mentioned them as things are very similar to both!
Cheers Patdfb!

Re: Help, Anyone?
I have the exact same problem/symptoms. My EMG was normal, blood tests normal except High C-Reactive protein (inflammation marker in the body). I am going for a bone scan and had another batch of blood work done. I was told I have Fibromyalgia but there is something else going on too but they can't figure out what. For the past year and a half I would have "Flares" but since Jan. 31st these symptoms have never stopped plus new problems arose like terrible swelling. It is really frustrating I know. I definitely feel for you. I was also on tramadol but eventually it stopped working because the pain is so great. it seemed to work in the begging though. It appears we have some autoimmune disorder but what it is I do not know. What blood tests have you had done?
What to get checked for: Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lyme's Disease, Hepatitis, Sed. Rate, C-Reactive Protein, Thyroid problems, Vitamin Deficencies, Sjogrens and there are others...these are some I know I am being tested for.

Re: Help, Anyone?
Bella, Ive only ever had one set of bloods taken, that was months ago, and i cant honestly remember other than the diabetes thing what they were looking for.. will be bringing it up with quack tomorrow, your now the 3rd person to mention fibro and lupus and lyme...
Could the previous two things be flare ups rather than what the were semi diagnosed as?
Cheers for the advice.

"will be bringing it up with quack tomorrow." That totally made me smile . Get an appointment with a good Rheumatologist who can do a full battery of tests to rule out main culprits. Really look around though because you don't want any more "quacks" . I am not sure exactly what you are asking with you last question. Could you explain further. Thanks.

Re: Help, Anyone?
Hi bella, what I was referring to was this.
Is it likely that the Post Virus Syndrome and the suspected thoracic outlet syndrome mentioned in the inital post could be related to this outbreak of yukkyness ?
As in they werent what was diagnosed, but were symptomatic of something else.
Cheers once again
