Re: Feel like I'm about to break

Brian:

Chin up buddy! We're here for you. Just remember that God doesn't give us any more than we can handle.

Take it easy on yourself. He does expect you to do your part!!! Rest up and relax some, and try to do as little as you can. Go to work, come home, relax, order out dinner, watch a movie....blah, blah, blah! You know the drill! LOL! Us CP'ers have that down pat!!

Take care, and let us know if we can help. I think when the weather clears and warms, we'll all start feeling TONS better.

Huggles!

Becky

((((((((((Brian))))))))))))))

We're all here, on your side, and nothing can change that. I hope you find your way out of this bad patch and that we can help you through it.

Hang in there, God hates a coward

Re: Feel like I'm about to break

Hey Brian: I get so sad when I hear you are this low.* You have done so much good on this board, and helped so many of us.* I know the weather is horrid and the snowblowing has to be done, but in future, if we get anymore of this nastiness, now would be the time to give some kids 10 bucks and let them do it. I know it wouldn't be done as well as you would do it, but it would take a load off your poor broken bod for now.

Bri: you are a survivor. You have more strength than you know. If you didn't you wouldn't be here right now. And about the other thing...."he who has no sin".....you know the rest. Comfort is a basic human need.

Please hang in there and don't give up hope. You mean far too much to the rest of us here. Please remember, you are ALWAYS in my prayers. cmpgirl

Re: Feel like I'm about to break

Thank you to everyone for the kind replies. I am truly amazed at how caring you all are. I am doing better tonight, probably due to the awesome people here and lifting me up in prayer. I don't know if I mentioned the Medrol pack that I started but it is helping. I have an appt with my doctor on Friday and will be telling him about the increase in the pain. You know maybe the Effexor was helping with the pain and I did not realize it. However, I will never ever ever go back on that stuff again. I nearly talked my doc into having my gallbladder removed. I just need to make sure that I floss tonight, maybe stamp it on my forehead, hand, etc. I just need to make sure that I do everything the doctor & dentist wants me to do. I am seeing my doctor on Friday though and I am thinking about asking to increase the patch by 12.5mcg. I just don't know what the right thing is to do. I need to really pray about it and ask for guidance instead of trying to play doctor and figure things out myself. Thanks to everyone and I will keep you posted.

Re: Feel like I'm about to break

Hope things are improving for you Brian...I really do!

As I've posted before, I think one of your main problems is the Lortab. It's baby aspirin compared to the patch....Way too weak. You don't take something "weaker" for BT pain. Think about it this way....The patch, or fentanyl, establishes your baseline....A much weaker drug isn't going to deaden the break through pain that the patch doesn't filter out....You need either MORE fentanyl for BT, or a equally strong med, like Oxycodone. I have a close friend who is on the patch and uses Actiq for BT #1 and Oxyfast for BT#2. BT# 1 is the 1st attempt at dulling the pain....If it doesn't work, then she uses #2 which ALWAYS works. The problem is that it effectively ends her day...i.e has to lay down, sleep or whatever due to it's strength.

Hope all works out for you.

Ex
