Re: ENT Visit....

I had a CAT scan of my sinuses and allergy testing last summer. I have been through the immunotherapy before, but my ENT wants me to try another round before considering sinus surgery. I average at least 4 sinus infections a year each lasting over a month.

I am on Allegra, Flonase, Astelin and Singulair. I went on them one at a time over a period of years. They all tackle the allergies differently. I'm not crazy about taking so much medicine, but after 15 years of sinus and allergy problems, I am thankful I have them.

By the way, I have had no problems with the Astelin.

Re: ENT Visit....

I started the medications at different times. I also tried different medications also over the years. Because I knew the effectiveness of the current one I was taking before adding each of the others, I was able to monitor how well the new medication worked for me. I have pretty severe allergies at times so while I found relief with some medications, I have never been completely clear of symptoms. I just know when I am doing better. I have confirmed this as I have gone off all of my allergy meds before testing throughout the year. If I had to choose, Allegra and Flonase give me the most relief. The Astelin is a good support, as is the Singulair. I was originally put ont he Singulair for my Asthma, but the allergy support is a great plus.
