Switching Pills Opinions Please

I took Yaz for two years, I had a heavy period and bad mood swings. So on yearly check up, I switched to Loestrin 24 Fe. After 3 months, I still had non-stop break through bleeding all month long but enjoyed loosing some weight. Now I starting to take Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 a generic version and higher strength. I have just completed my first month. I am currently waiting on my period to come. I have noticed I have felt more bloated on this pill and feel weight gain but it's the first month so ya know.

My question is does this pill make me not have a period at all? Any other side effects? I only want a lighter period I don't want to skip it all together. What other pill should I try? Thanks.

Re: Switching Pills Opinions Please

I have been on Microgestin for 2 months and couldn't seem to grasp my growing depression and other side effects until I read some of these postings. I too have been waiting for my period and have been feeling VERY blah and out of sorts since I started it. My question is if anyone has experienced vivid dreams and feelings of random "da ja vu" and faintness? I know it may sound crazy but it's the only thing I'm on and have never felt this way before in my life......

Re: Switching Pills Opinions Please

I was on Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 for over 5 years after having switched from different pills for other side effects. I tried so many different pills, Ortho-cyclen, ortho-tri-cyclen, demulen, desogen, norinyl, tri-norinyl, seasonale, I mean the list goes on. I found that for me, the microgestin was the least problematic of all of them, but what finally prompted me to quit the pill all together was that my sex drive was completely dead. I had no desire whatsoever. It took over a year to get it back to normal again.

But in terms of the other side effects i'd had with the others, it's a lot of the same stuff you guys are complaining about already. I had breakthrough bleeding often, but I found out that was due to polyps and the pill was just masking the problem. I'm glad I finally quit the pill because I'd never have guessed I had polyps until I finally had a gyne who mentioned it as a possibility. It was a blessing to me that I found out so I could take care of it.
