Please help! Not sure what to do next.

Back in February i went to my doctor with an infection, after numerous internals she gave me some tablets and antibiotics which shifted this and because i had missed two periods she referred me to the gyni. To cut a long story short a week last Tuesday i got a pain in the vaginal area and it got so bad i went into A and E to get it checked as the docs was closed. More internals showed nothing. Went to the docs who gave me co codomol, ibuprofen and amitriptyline tablets (the last is because i am so stressed out about a hysteroscopy i am to have on the 21st May - never been so scared about anything). The pain remains and overtakes my daily life. Has anyone else had this experience? Same partner for 24years, healthy until now. Any advice would be most gratefully received. Thanks ever so much. Even someone who has had a hysteroscopy to tell of the experience would be nice to talk to. Thanks

What is a hysteroscopy? Is this like an internal exam or do you mean hysterectomy? If it is a hysterectomy maybe the pain will subside with this surgery/

Sorry for being so dumb. I just never heard of that term before. I am assuming it is an internal look. I cannot imagine what could cause that kind of pain unless it is a twist in fallopian tube or a growth on an ovary. But surely your doc has thought of all that.

golfhat: a hysteroscopy is when they use a scope to travel into the uterus to see what the problem is. Similar to other types of scopes.
