I've been skipping my period on triphasic pills...

I've been on estrostep fe the past year. I normally skip on to the next pack to avoid my period. I did not know that it was a triphasic pill since it was all the same color (just different shapes). I haven't had any problems with doing this. However, I recently was switched over to Tri-legest FE which is a generic form of Estrostep. Would it be okay to just skip to the next pack as I usually do? or should I start my second pack backwards?? Would starting the next pack backwards reduce any effectiveness of the pill? any advice would be great, thanks!
