Re: New Labs after 1 month on Tapazol

I agree with you about them leaving the message, because I did have some questions, like when were they planning to draw labs again, when would I see the Dr again ect.
Right now I take 10 mg of Tap once a day. Other than fatigue and muscle aches and pains, I guess I feel ok!
How have you been feeling?
Thanks for responding!

In that case, you may as well just call and make an appt for no more than 6 weeks from the last draw. It needs to be followed pretty closely for a while to make sure you don't shift over into hypoland. When you go in, make sure you have the next followup scheduled before you leave.

Have they been doing anything for the fibro? Fatigue, muscle aches and pains doesn't make for the highest quality of life. Did I mention lyrica to you in an earlier post? I've been taking it for neuropathy and it's helped a lot. I understand it's quite effective for fibro too.

Headwise I'm doing really good. Still got some stuff to work out but I'm getting there slow but sure. I like the cytomel a lot. It has a real calming influence on me. I no longer have that constant I just wanna explode and go ballistic feeling anymore. Never knew there was such a thing as life without frenzy. It's kinda cool.

Re: New Labs after 1 month on Tapazol

Me.. at your levels.. had me in hypoT Hades. You are in normal range, but you are low normal as Midwest states.

Thyroxine Free 0.7 ( 0.6 - 1.1) This is 20% of normal range. EEK! Optimal is 50-80% for pre-meno females.

T3 Free 2.9 ( 2.0 - 3.5) This is 60%. This is good. Optimal range and the reason your TSH is so low. Have they been checking your adrenal and pituitary function?

Cortisol and ACTH in parrticular? How do you feel? You may need to add a pinch of T4 to your mix. My mom went Tapazol and 25 mcgs of synthroid for about five years. My Aunt is doing fine on it and Carnitine. It is a delicate constant balance game.

Re: New Labs after 1 month on Tapazol

accessn12,

For the Fibro, no I have a Dr that belives in exercise as in yoga and walking, no narcotics what so ever. Thankfully my GP didn't hear this He will prescribe hydrocodone when my muscles misbehave, I also take Mobic when the arthrictic pains kick in. I do have a rx for therapy, just don't have the time right now. My nieghbor and good friend just happened to get diagnosed with fibro the week prior to me, so I know what the therapist is telling her, and can follow that. Thankfully, I have a mild case. I also feel that a lot of mine is thyroid!! I dont think you mentioned Lyrica but I have read up on it. I dont think it is for me at this point. I am glad that the cytomel is working so well for you!

mkg - You know, they did check my Cortisol and ACTH at my very first appt, but it was 10:30 in the morning. I think it was only because I had told them that I had had abnormal fasting results prior to that and since these results came back normal, they have not checked them again, and nor do I believe that they ever saw the abnormal results from before. I know I need to get in touch with them, but right now their town and the University is flooding. So, I think I will go back to the drawing board with my letter. Ever since mid month after staring the Tapazole, I just never feel rested, muscle aches and pains just blah.
Thanks again all for looking these over for me!
