Vagifem, Vivelle patch

I go to see my urologist every six months as I have micro.hematuria (trace, six years). He recently put me on Vagifem vaginal tabs and the Vinelle patch in place of the Estratest HS which I've been taking for about 10 years. Supposedly it should relieve the vaginal dryness and long-gone-libido (sp?). (I can't even spell it anymore! LOL!) These are also suppose to be beneficial in other ways. I would like to hear about your experience with these hormones.

Blessings

Re: Vagifem, Vivelle patch

I don't know about the vagifem.. I use the vivelle and I like it a lot.
Have ALL your hormones been checked... to see if there is any other issue? Thyroid, pituitary, adrenal?

Re: Vagifem, Vivelle patch

Thanks for the reply Rumpled. May I ask how is it beneficial to you? I'd like to know what to expect and also how long does it take before it becomes effective. If this is too personal, please forgive me. BTW, I'm very glad it's working for you.

Re: Vagifem, Vivelle patch

Rumpled, I forgot to mention that I have to return to the doctor's office in six weeks for a hormone index check. My thyroid is fine thus far thank the Good Lord. I'm going for a full blood workup in a couple of weeks.

Re: Vagifem, Vivelle patch

I am panhypopituitary and have no adrenals or ovaries to produce estrogen so I rely on the patch for estrogen. It started to build up almost immediately. Oddly, I feel great releif from the hot flashes and night sweats yet my blood tests detect no estrogen!
I hope your doc tests more than TSH.
