Should I switch to Yaz/ what time do you take your pills.

I'm not happy with my brand right now but I have also heard bad things about Yaz. Have you experienced more good things or bad things?

ALSO, is it better to take your pills at night or in the morning? I've been taking mine at 7pm..

Re: Should I switch to Yaz/ what time do you take your pills.

I have not taken Yaz yet but i am thinking of switching. I am not happy with the one i am on (kariva). I have crazy mood swings and bad pms and the longer i am on my curent b/c it gets worse and worse. Everyone is different as to how our bodies react to the birth control. I couldn't take Ortho Tri cyclen lo cause it made me gain a crazy amount of weight and it made me feel bi-polar cause the mood swings were unbelieveable. But others have no problem with it.

I have to take my b/c in the evenings cause if i don't it makes me sick. I too take mine at 7PM. I don't think it matters what time you take it as long as you take it at the same time everyday.

Re: Should I switch to Yaz/ what time do you take your pills.

I'm currently on Yaz and really like it. It's my first BCP ever, so the first month's been interesting to say the least (getting used to it). No major side effects except low energy for a while and breast growth/tenderness. Nothing has happened in terms of weight gain/loss, but I feel like I have less of an appetite, but I'm not sure if it's the medication or what. I take my pills at 11AM, and I haven't been sick or anything (even if I haven't had breakfast/cup of coffee yet!)

Good luck!

Re: Should I switch to Yaz/ what time do you take your pills.

I acutally switched from ortho-tri-cyclen to yaz and i acutally like yaz alot better, i find that im not as emotional anymore, also my periods are shorter and lighter they only last 2 days and are alot lighter. It also helps me with my acne so i don't really break out when i am on my period. the only thing is that i have less energy than usual. my doctor says that its normal and should go away within the next month of being on it. all in all im pretty happy about it.
