singulair plus advair

I am on Singulair now. The insurance company wants me to take Advair at the same time.. Why?

They are completely different medications that work in different ways to control asthma symptoms. It's very common for people to take both medications to help keep their asthma from flaring up - Singulair inhibits the release of a chemical that causes inflammation and Advair contains an anti-inflammatory that helps reduce inflammation in the airways plus a long-acting bronchodilator the helps relax the airways in your lungs..

You should consult with your doctor to see if he/she agrees with the insurance company.

I'm one of those people who take both Singulair and Advair and I've found it to be helpful in keeping my asthma under control.

For me, the Singulair did not work well alone, but I have success with the combination.
