hello

Hi, I'm new to the boards, I was needing some help. I read the anxiety symptoms, but for some reason I just can't unconvince myself there is something horribly wrong with me, I continously fear I have an aneuryism (sp) or brain tumor and people are simply writing it off as anxiety. I was diagnosed with OCD and anxiety problems when I was 13, around 18 it went away and I was fine without medications, i'm 22 now, and about 2 months ago I started experiencing muscle tighness, and pains, I'd flip out, nearly having panic attacks. My main problem is, it will seem like i'm not stressed at all, and I'll still be showing signs of anxiety IE, my temples will be tingling, I'll have muscle pains, I'll be very edgy, the slightest noise will cause me to jump, I have a constant fear that there's something wrong with me and that i'm going die any second, it really sucks. Another thing is my eyes seem to be playing tricks on me alot, sometimes it seems like when I move something there will be tail of on it( as if it was moving in slow motion) I've had my dr check my eyes, but he said at the most it was what he called a "floater" and that it will settle to the bottom of my eye eventually... any help will be greatly appreciated. feel free to post your opinions, and i'm sorry for bugging you all.

Re: hello

I have been exactly like you for years. I have had all the tests that show nothin and all the symptoms of ms, aneurysum, brain tumor etc...and nothing. Xanax Xr has chaned my life. I can live again. I feel for you. This board helps alot. You are not alone. i live in fear everyday I am gonna die. If you have had all tests and Dr's say you are fine. Find the right med and go on with life. Life is tooo short to live in fear of fear. Take care

Re: hello

i'm the same way. now i really do have problems: a tumor in my leg. and i feel calmer now with a surgery date and plans for treatment than i've felt for the past year suffering with anxiety! just always remember that anything causing you only worry and mild pain can wait till monday. by the time monday rolls around, if you're like me, you'll find that you have different symptoms and the other ones are last weeks' news! haha. i know it's not something to joke about believe me i am suffering too. i read a really great book called "who switched off my brain" that gave me scientific evidence that my bodily symptoms were caused by my thoughts. it also gave me tools to alter my thoughts to create a healthier body. i wish you all the best. hugs xo

Re: hello

I went through at least 7 different medications when I was younger, a few are paxil, celexa, zoloft, buspar... I'm afraid to try xanax, I'm afraid it might turn me into a walking zombie or something. Can you drink while taking xanax? I'm not trying to sound childish, but there's not a whole lot to do in a small college town other than hit the bar with some friends.

I am fine on xanax and i drink sometimes. I would not drink too uch on it. Talk to your Dr about it. She would know better.
