Exclamation Kava Kava is NOT TOXIC!

FDA will do any thing to boost pharmaceutical drugs, and bad name the herbs...

Kava been used for thousands of years, and now suddenly people die from it! or have liver toxication, or liver failure.

There must be something else, to this picture! like ALCOHOL, DRUGS, OTHER CHEMICALS!

Dr.Andrew said Kava causes liver failure when taken with chemicals.

Why wont FDA bad mouth Coffee beans? when they can cause seizures, panic attacks, anxiety, increased blood pressure EVEN with out the caffeine!

Because it makes money!

So lets say Starbucks starts to sell Kava Tea, and it becomes a total hit, and people love it... I think FDA will change its view towards it.

Kava has helped with anxiety... I love it!

Jennita anything ya wanna add?

I think that when people combined Kava Kava with Xanax or like... thinking it was ok because Kava Kava is from the health food store. It caused an overdose reaction to the combination. I think that's why Kava kava got a bad reputation. Some times people don't realize herbal formula's from the health food store can be very potent, as potent as perscription meds......and some times can NOT be used in combination....

If it was that bad on the liver alone, by itself and in normal servings, it would have already been banned Look how fast Serzone was in the media. You see, some people make the mistake of combining or mega dosing some beneficial things in life and that's where the problems arise...even vitamins can be toxic, as we all know!!! Yet in normal intake, they are quite beneficial to our health. Kava in normal amounts are no doubt not any more harmful than a vitamin in a normal amount. Certainly not as harmful as a prescription medication....there is a reason why you need the legal ok to get these things...they are quite powerful, otherwise they could be sold OTC...how about that Prozac Tea????

Hi Just-a-Boy!! Glad Kava works for you; you have the right ideas; don't let anyone tell you different. But always use caution with anything, ok? You'll do just fine! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif

I agree that natural herbal remedies are best -I don't take any medications myself! But you do have to be careful with the herbal stuff, particularly the dosage (as well as combination, as you guys mentioned above).

I noticed Kava getting a lot of media attention after they started making herbally enhanced snack foods - you have no idea how much of the stuff they're putting in there. And if little kids get their hands on the stuff, I don't even want to think about it.

As long as you do your research, and know EXACTLY how much of something you're taking, you'll be fine...
