If you get back into using you may want to look at Buprenorphine maintenance or taper.

There are a number of different products used for help with sleep one of which was described in an earlier post on this thread. Also good advice about working with your doctor or a doctor. I would absolutely recommend this. The sleep patterns do take time to get back to normal, each of us is different so it may take 2 weeks or 2 months. It does slowly come around. On herbal aid for sleep is Melatonin. This is used very effectively for Jet lag as well as sleep aid. I took this for awhile and it made my dreams very vivid lol

Hey if you got to 6 days clean you were almost there, at least through the more difficult parts of withdrawal, go for it again, work with a doc and I think you'll like the outcome of being clean.

Illkid,

Talk to your Dr. about taking either "trazadone" or "doxepin". They WILL knock you out.

They are both tri-cyclic antidepressants that are extremely sedating, so they're not used for that purpuse too much any longer.

I recently took 100mg of doxepm which proved to be way to strong for me however, and although i slept like a brick, I could not wake up the next day; I was so out of it.

So, altho you will sleep, they may give you a hangover effect, which i didn't like. But, these are the 2 medications that are most often given for sleep in detox treatment centers when people are going through opiate withdrawal.

There are meds like Sonata, Ambien, Restoril, Serax...all of which are medications for sleeping. then like another post said...trazadone, elavil, etc.. sleep does not come easy when detoxing. I did not sleep for 3 straight days I think it was...this board was my only sanity those days. It is tough, but something that has to be done...if you can make it to day six, take on day at a time, then your on day seven...next thing ya know...a month. See about getting something to help sleep but dont get discouraged if you have problems sleeping...it happens and it sucks, but gets better. Good luck

Thanks for all the suggestions and support people, this is the only place I've turned for help, my family Doctor is very hard to get ahold of and most of the time he is out of the office. I may be able to get in this week, but probably won't be able to drive myself. I'm only off for 24hrs right now... haven't taken anything except some advil. I'm waaay out of town at my cousins place, my doctor is almost 2hrs away. I was thinking of trying a walk-in-clinic and asking for ativan? By tomorrow same time, I really don't think I'll be able to move much, and without sleep this feels like its going on forever. I'll keep everyone posted as the days go by, your words are all encouraging.
