chef - Today is the first day I took the wellbutrin, I was very jittery all day but VERY euphoric. I know this feeling will subside pretty soon though BUT IM CRAVING CIGARETTES EVEN MORE! I dont get that.

Hope - I was thinking that but people abuse that too and the doctor might not give it to me because he'll ASSUME and LABLE me as an "ill do anything that gets me high" kinda guy. One of my doctors refused to give me Klonopin once and that could have had a fatal outcome.

Kitty, SOMEONE will adjust your financial situation. probably even the drug company. I looked at my insurance statement though and almost died of an acute overdose of numerical digits! With my detox, doctor visits, ER visits, and medication IN ONE MONTH paid like 20K. But they will take what ever you have to give them and maybe work out payment options. My insurance company wont cover the suboxone though.

Laynes. . . Suboxone is almost impossible to abuse. It contains a special chemical called a narcan that deters would-be abusers from crushing the pill, dissolving it and injecting it into themselves to produce a high. The narcan, if injected, causes withdrawal symptoms - but if it is taken orally, it is harmless.

Suboxone does nothing for pain . . . it just treats opiate addiction and does a good job at that! From what I understand, there is a ceiling and you can't get a buzz or high from it.

For those who relapse over and over it seems to be a miracle drug!

(Sorry, Laynes . . . I just re-read our posts and realize you were probably talking about abusing Viagra not Suboxone!)

hope...buphenorphine is a pain medication,opiate....if you take it to lets say get off pills you are subbing one opiate for another...i was on the stuff for 4 years....it treats moderate to severe pain, in europe they found it was good for treating heroin addicts...you may feel a little euphoric the first couple times you take it but other than that you have alot of energy and no w/d's effects cause it is an opiate also...

Chefob . . . Suboxone has only been approved by the FDA since October of 2002. Suboxone is has a drug to prevent addicts from abusing it and also sends you into withdrawals if you take pain meds. with it, so it may not be as easy to relapse on. I realize it is an opiate but will not take care of pain and does not show up as an opiate in a urine sample. I also realize there are still withdrawals when you go off of it, but some people may need to take it permanently just like an anti-depressant (which it is currently being tested for). It is a God send for my family right now.
