Post Dizzy, Lightheaded, And more.

Hi All,
This is my first time here, so please bare with me.
About 10 years ago I had my first episode.
I'm a truck driver and was going down the road when I started getting lightheaded and wobbly felling. It kept getting worse with my hands getting sweatty and tingley along with the tops of my thighs. Then I started having short whiteouts for lack of a better word.
I went to a local E.R where I was and they checked my heart because by the time I got there I was having pressure in my chest.
They said it wasn't my heart and to follow up with my Regular M.D.
I did this and went for test after test.
Ct, MRI, etc. all came back Neg.
Had a diagnosis of {forgive the spelling} pernisious anemia, and was started on B-12 Shots and folic acid.
Took the shots and the folic for about 1 1/2 years with the spells still comming and going.
If I went into our local video store that had a black and white checkerboard floor I would almost fall over.
If I smoked a joint, which I haven't for about 9 years now, then stood up I would pass out cold.
Back then the dizzy feeling would almost always meen me falling to the left.
After about the year and a half they started going away.
Now 8-9 years later, its back and worse.
Last Thur. I was driving my truck and out of state when I started getting dizzy, with the clammy and tingley hands, the numbness in my thighs, the feeling I was going to pass out, pain in my chest, dry mouth, numb lips and waves of nausea.
I pulled in a truck stop and foud a couple of county deputys who were there to ask for a ride to the hospital.
They looked at my and called an ambulance. Said I was white as a ghost.
While waiting One of them too my BP and it was 158 over 124 but my resp. was 68.
Got in the amb. and they hooked me up to EKG and gave me two nitro pills.
That seemed to take away the chest pain but still had the lose of balance and wierd vision.
Friends came and brought me to our local hospital for more test, they kept me over night and did a treadmill with some kind of shot that I ain't even gonna try to spell. Then took some kind of pictures.
Doctor came in the next day and said my heart was fine and to follow up with my reg. M.D.
Went to him on Fri. and he looked at my blood test and said my b-12 and folic were fine and to quit smoking cig.
He's waiting on the test results from the two hosptils then I go see him this Thur.
I'm sorry for this being so long but I get that way here sometimes lately.
I have more odd symtoms but this is the just of it.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I need to get back to work but I'm sure people don't want a dizzy truck driver on the road, including me:}
Thanks

The term you used, short "white-outs", made me think of petit-mal seizures (a form of epilepsy). If you're having petit-mal seizures, they won't show up on an EEG or MRI.

I've been recently diagnosed with epilepsy and along with the small seizures (I also refer to them as "white-outs" or "flashes") I've had numbness, tingling, severe headaches, and nausea...all of which the doc says comes along with the petit-mal seizures.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon!

Nic

Thanks for the replys,
We thought about the sugar so I've been checking it for a couple of days now and it seems to be alright,
the first time it happened I went to an ear doctor and he first said meiners disease but then found out that his machine was messed up and ruled that out.
Don't know if it would have anything to do with it but I've got two blown disc in my neck and one in my lower back with pain down my left arm and my pincky, ring finger and part of my middle finger numb. Have had this for over a year.
Nicola, about the petit-mal, haven't had a doctor say anything about that. What test do they do for it or what should I look for?
I appreciate everyones help, this is starting to get me real depressed, not knowing is worse than having it.
Like I said, last time it happened, it was a year and a half I couldn't work and I can't go through that again.
The vision thing keeps me from doing a lot of reading because the letters kind of blur together.
Thanks again for the ideas,
I'll keep checking back and give more questions if you all don't get tired of me.
