Post Tremor and muscle problem.

I'm a 23 year old male. I've been active in sports my whole life and have worked out in the past without any problem. Recently however I've been having uncontrolable shaking of my fingers when i move them and also uncontrolable shaking in my neck and head when i talk to people or when i just stay still at times. Not only are those things affecting my social life, but now when i try to work out, using weights, my whole body shakes and i have trouble finishing the workout cause of this. It's as if any time i use my muscles to do something like picking something up that would usually be easy, now my muscles shake when i do this. The neorogist said i had essential tremor, but is it possible i have something else and he just misdiognosed me??? I used to live a normal athletic life but i'm having trouble doin this now.

Essential tremor is a fairly common condition that a neurologist would see so he/she probably diagnosed you correctly. It sounds like ET from your description.

Are you taking anything for it? Sadly there is no cure for ET but medications can reduce symptoms in some people by as much as 50%. Inderol (Propranolol) is and Primidone (Mysoline) are common medicines for ET.

I was just diagnosed with essential tremors, too. I bent my head forward a little to crochet or read and I was surprised to feel my head bobbing. I am having trouble keeping somethings in my hand. I felt this was related to C2-3 hearniated and bone spur. I just thought things were progressively getting worse. Have you had any problems with one side of the tongue being higher as one looks to the back of their mouth. Been having some problems swallowing. My writing is getting bad. So you feel muscle weakness too, Anyone know why the feeling and having weakness is there together. I triewd primadone and caused my tongue to swell and felt like I had fat lips abd jawbones stated aching. Am awaiting MRI of the head > Would this be something that would show up in a MRI. Would like to keephearing from you or others posting. I have been having strokes, 2 and the last one was quite painful. For me it seems the more I use my muscles the weaker the muscles feel. Perhaps exercise has to hault. Other question , anyone experiencing headache but only on rt side? Three days headache plus optic nerve in head,,,, eyeball ache isn,t good. Would you relay what you have learned. I really hear how much you enjoy fun activities, maybe something else can replace this. Take care, special day, too

This might sound a bit odd and neurotic but are your muscle fibers supposed to feel like little pebbles when you feel them with your fingers while flexing, biceps for example. Aren't they supposed to be smooth and flat when you feel them?
