I've been through those sinus infections from hell. Talk about pain.

This last time I used a flonase inhaler which seemed to help open up and calm down the inflammation.

One time I had such a horrible infection that my internist sent me to a infectious disease dr. to find the proper antibiotic to help get rid of it as Augmentin and the rest did nothing to help. I was also on large amounts of decongestants and tried to avoid the surgery. Its been many years and I can't remember the medication off hand. If I can find out I certainly will post it.

Good luck,
Theresa

Just in case things would come back at the time of the year again or you would have contact with mold etc and it should cause you problems, the antibiotic the infectious disease dr. told me to take was
Ofloxacin 400mg or Lorabid 200mg twice a day. He did mention that a culture should be done if these didn't work...

Hope since the surgery that life will be better for you and no more sinus infections like that last one...
