sharp pain

AFter breakfast this morning I noticed a strange pain under my right clavivle bone but ignored it. had to go to the ortho, then the chripractor thinking it would just go away. Once i got home it got worse. Finally I thought maybe it was due to heartburn since i have GERD so I took a Pepcid AC, an hour later I took a Tums. thirty minutes later, it still hurts, all the more. Its just like this stabbing constant pain under that right clavivle bone. I also tried lying down and relaxing but as soon as I sat up, it returned with vengeance. I'd hate to go see a dr about something dumb but this really hurts and hte pain is really starting to get to me. Should i try Tylenol or something?

Maybe it is pleurisy. I had that once and it hurt between my shoulder and neck and in the clavicle area. In my case, it went away after a few days.

Yeah that sounds excatly where the pain is. Any idea how to lessen it? Heat? Laying down? Eating? Not eating? Bleh it is SO annoying!

I think you are supposed to drink alot of water and take anti-inflamatories like motrin. And if it doesn't get better in a couple of days, go to the doctor. Does it hurt worse when you take a deep breath?

It hurts doing nothin, but yes, also hurts a lot when a take a deep breath. if i had known it would last all day I would have called my PCP earlier today. It has now traveled to my mid chest, up against my throat. It feels almost like a heartburn type pain but that is weird because I am on Prevacid and I have been taking Tums all day. My mom suggested I take a Tylenol which i think I am goign to try b/c this is just so ridiculous. Anyway thanks for the help!
