Thumbs up

I was on Trazodone for sleep, and it worked well for me! First I was taking a lot (75 mg), then 50, then all the way down to 25, I think. It does help for anxiety, and I was taking it also for that reason. If you take a lower dose, then it won't make you feel groggy in the morning. Now I am no longer on it and I am sleeping well!

Well I saw my doctor this morning (2/21) and I told him I cannot sleep , and I asked for an Rx. for "Ambien".
He gave me a 3 week supply and said if that doesn't work we will go to other options.
Maybe see a sleep disorder specialist.
Due to all my Pain from having tumors thru out my entire body from my Neurofibromatosis , I am in so much pain that trying to get a good nights sleep is impossible.
I pray the Ambien will help me.
I am so tired and desperate for sleep.

Thanks for all your reply postings.

It help's some , but I still awaken every few hours , due to my pain issue's from spinal tumor's.

I am on the Ambien for 21 days only , and may have to seek other options with my doctor about my health consirns.

Hi there,

I have trouble sleeping also due to back pain and depression. I sometimes take Benadryl for a good night's sleep. I have Trazodone, but it doesn't work as well as the Benadryl.

Good luck with the Ambien--hope it works for you.

Genevra.

Be careful with Ambien. It's really just a sleep initiator intended for short term use. My understanding is that it doesn't allow you to reach true "deep sleep." Like you said, many people wake up after a few hours and can't get back to sleep. Trazodone 25mg works great for me. At that dose I don't wake up groggy. I make sure I take it at least 8 hours before I need to wake up. EVERY drug has side effects, even vitamins and supplements can have them.
