Unhappy

I tried the Ambien for 2 days Now , and it doesn't help at all. I am so disappointed now.
Thankfully I had no side effects from it.
I'd sleep less then an hour and then wide awake i'd be all night.

Yet in the wee hours in the morning I took my Lorsapam tablet (for anxiety ) and it helped me get 5 hours of straight sleep. Lorsapam is a sleeping pill too , also know as Ativan.

Like any drug it is habit forming I guess , and that is why doctor don't like dishing them out.

I still make have to seek out a sleep disorder specialist some time in the near fututre.

Talking

I have fibromalagia, I have been perscribed Trazadone 100mg for sleep. I also take Zyprexa to prolong the effect of Trazadone. I take a tablet and 1/2 each night 2 hours before bedtime along with the one Zyprexa and I fall into a deep sleep and do not waken at all during the night. I wake up in the mornings feeling rested. It's the best sleep I have had in a long time. My Rheumatologist said that it was an old medication that is frequently used now for people having trouble going to sleep. I also have simulation depression that I take a new kind of drug called Lexapro that works real good. I take ultram for pain. I also have cervical spondylosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, osteoarthritis, and severe carpal tunnel bilateral after surgery. Each person is different but I find that this medication works best for me. Follow what your Dr. perscribes as he knows what is best for you to take for your condition. Good Luck and if you need to talk please email me.

Question

Thanks for the replys , Ativan (Lorsapam ) for anxiety , which I get from time to time , Really helps me sleep at night.

But The doctor said to take the Trazodone.
From reading about all the nasty side effects that warns me away.
I tried one 25 mg's Amitryptiline in the 1980's and it put me in a deep fog for a week with non stop vomiting. (Different doctor at the time ).

Am I depressed from all my over whelming health Problems ? I don't know. Maybe at times , I just don't know.

I may ask to go back to my Rhumatologist to get a diagnosis for Fibromyalgia as a possible cause to some of my problems.
Not sleeping is terrible. I am exhausted beyond words.
I am in constant pain from tumors. I have so many pressure point pains it is Not funny.

Thanks for you replys and listening to me ramble on about all my up's and downs.

Glenda

Exclamation

Hey Glenda, my 9yo and my husband both have NF1. My son has it worse than his dad. I see all the pain that he goes through and I want to take it away from him so he could be normal like the other kids in his age group. He is the brave one and just keeps trying. My Fibromyalgia is causing sleep problems and the trazadone has really helped I have been on it for about a year. I also take Lexapro (antidepressant) 10mg in the morning. Lexapro is new and I haven't had any side effects with it. It doesn't make me sleepy and I wake up in the mornings instead of sleeping half the day. It maybe a good idea to be referred back to your rheumatologist especially since you have had Fibromyalgia before. Take one day at a time Good luck and God Speed
