Do I need to go to the doctor for a fever?

What my doctor said (as she was feeling my swollen nodes) was "I don't mean to alarm you, but what you have looks similar to cancer." And then she went on asking about any family history of cancer.
She told me that if the anti-biotics didn't take care of whatever it is I have, she would have an ultrasound done on my neck.

Oh, and I just now got home from a walk-in doctor visit so they could take a look at my throat. He had a strep test done. It's a viral infection.. so that means it's not strep or thrush. I guess this is the virus that is causing my lymph nodes to swell. Oh, he also prescribed some Ibuprophen to help reduce the inflammation.

I still have a doctor appointment for tomorrow, too. I'm hoping she gives me some good news (non-cancerous)...

Ah man, you guys...

My mom switched doctors, so now I'm not getting that ultrasound that I really wanted. That sucks because I really want to know what this is!!

My old doctor put me on Amoxicillin before I left there. This stuff is giving me a rash all over my chest and stomach... so I stopped taking it. I'll call my doctor tomorrow and ask about it.

I already know I have a virus (the doctor told me after he took the strep test), so its most likely that it's causing this sickness. So what good are the anti-biotics anyway? I guess she suspected that I have a bacterial as well as a viral infection...

Anyway, this stuff itches and this sucks. I'm so tired of being ill.
