Question thick blood

I went to have some blood work done this A.M. The nurse was having problems getting the blood out & I noticed that when it did come into the vial,it was dropping in lumps. I got a call from my nuero. earlier & he wants me back in tomorrow ASAP for more blood work. Aside from Keppra, I take no new drugs & I have never seen my blood so thick. I take dilantin also.
Could Keppra cause this, or should I prepare for a clot?
Thanks!!

Question

Did you ever find out why the thick blood? My mother was just bitten by a dog and she said the blood came out very clumpy- almost like one piece. Her doctor told her not to worry about it it is normal. Doesn't seem normal to me though! If anyone is familiar with something like that, please let me know!

Actually, my DR. did have more blood drawn since then & all is fine. He said that if the needle had been repeated "twisted" while in, that would cause the blood to clot. I have very small veins & I recalled after he said that, the nurse had prodded from left to right trying to find that vein. Hope that helps.
