Hi- I don't have much to add except to try to get really good allergy control (and therefore alleviate p.n. drip and irritation)
This doesn't sound like something serious, nor does it sound permanent....Talk to your doctor again if your allergies are still creating discomfort in general.

I have this as well. I finally found out that I have a severe grass allergy, so bad that medication alone didn't help. I began getting allergy shots about 6 months ago and it REALLY helped with this sensation.

It actually came back about 2 weeks ago (it's summer now). I feel terrible right now, and I can't stop blowing my nose. I am taking Allegra-D along with my shots (it has been helping in the past, but isn't right now for some reason).

I have had this weird gag sensation since I was in high school. I usually have a water bottle or something to snack on with me at all times because that is the only thing that seems to help at all (and even that doesn't make it go away, just helps a little).

Well if you are crazy there are plenty of us along with you. I have the same thing. I do have allergies and post nasal drip. My nose gets totally stuffed up and I have to use Afrin as anything the dr gives me doesnt help me. All of a sudden I feel like I could throw up for no reason. So its not just you. the post nasal drip makes you feel that way. its gross.
good luck and remember that we are suffering right along with you (all of us crazies)

Sounds like your doctors need to expand their medical knowledge, because Post nasal drip can most definitely cause a sensation of nausea, not originated from the stomach.. I get the same thing and it drives me nuts some times.. It's like a "Nasal Nausea" I call it..--ha, ha Not sure what is the cause of mine, (hormonal, dairy?) as of yet.. And that lump feeling in my throat just really get's annoying.. Almost trigers a a false hunger feeling, in the midst of nausea, Very weird, but Real.. It's not in your head. Other folks do have the simliar sensation from Post Nasal drip. Might be good to try and figure out the cause of the increase mucus.
