I think your idea to seek another opinion from a new ENT person is a good one.
ESPECIALLY if your ear is actually draining sometimes onto your pillow.

A 2nd opinion certainly won't hurt. The draining is odd. Sounds like maybe mild infection, and/or inflammation going on.

Yea, I was given Allegra D but it kept me awake at night, well, I would sleep a few hours and then wake up and that was all she wrote.

One ENT told me I had mild hearing loss and nerve damage just like you were told but there was no fluid on my ears.

I could hear my heart beat in my left ear when I was taking the hearing test.

I fired that ENT because it is my opinion that if you diagnose someone with nerve damage, you had better do more than a hearing test to determine that.

Went to another ENT and was diagnosed with eustachian tube disfunction but again, only test that was done was to use a tuning fork. Seems to me if they are going to diagnose someone with things that they should test them more than they do.

I am disgusted with ENT's and dentists. Too many ENT's and dentists don't examine their patients thoroughly and those people end up with cancer because they were ignored.

My only suggestions to you are to get a hearing test with an independent audiologist not associated with an ENT and to perhaps get an MRI done.

Hi
Agree.
Consider the old-fashioned treatment of steam inhalations.
You know where you have a bowl of steaming water on the table and lean over it with a towel over your head, breathing in the steam though your nose. Every now and then blow your nose and after a few of these treatments the tubes might clear. You can usually hear crackling sound when blowing your nose.
Good luck.

About the fluid and crackling sound in your ears. I had the same thing and no one could say what it was either.

I believe it's related to mild inflamation in the ear canal. Antihystamines should make it better and if they do you probably have a low grade infection that is causing the problem (though allergies could do the same thing).

In my case a month of taking the antibiotic Septra helped clear most of it up. But I also found taking 1000mg of vitamin D started helping after a few weeks. Vitamin D is a known anti-viral, anti-bacteria agent, so perhaps it is helping on that score.

As far as the nose bleeds go. It's been my experience that nose bleeds that don't stop real fast represent a vitamin C deficiency. Perhaps you want to add a few hundred milligrams of C to your daily routine.
