Abcessed teeth are so painful you can't WAIT to get to the dentist to get you out of pain. I once had one (and by the way, they are usually UNDER the tooth and not visible)...and if someone had offered to hit me over the head to knock me out temporarily i would have leapt at the chance!
This sounds like local gingivitis (inflammation of the gum)...could be caused by over-flossing and thereby accidentally 'cutting" the gum there, or sometimes our gums puff up and bleed easily during stress, or if our diets are poor or we're not getting good sleep.
Good dentists know how to deal with patients on Coumadin, warfarin, or any other blood thinner. You might want to stop flossing for a few days in that area, and rinse for about 3 minutes 3 times a day with WARM salt water. Take a swig, hold it in your mouth and gently swish it around for about a minute.... Spit. Then take another swig, etc. Go easy and gently. See if this makes a difference in about 3 days or so.
