Post swollen lymph nodes

i have 3 swollen lymph nodes in my neck the first one is on my hairline and has been there for about 1 year the second about 2 months which is above my collarbone and about a week ago i noticed another one about an inch above the one on my collarbone i went to my doctor when i noticed the second one he seems to think its from a scalp infection but do they stay around for this long, i also read that if u squeeze them or if u move them around they dont return to normal size i hope this is the case because i didnt know this and i did play with them before i read not to do it. please help me stop worrying that i got cancer or something bad.

Hi Brian- If you in fact have a scalp infection, then that would probably explain the swollen nodes.Do you still have infection and if so, what did the doctor call it and and how widespread is it?

Do you have a sore throat or any other symptoms and did your doctor take any blood tests?

Smile

Hi Brian! About a month ago, I noticed a lump in the base of my head, but assumed it would just go away on it's own. It eventually got very sore, and never changed in size. It ended up being a lymph node also, that had become inflamed for some reason. It went away with the simple treament of Amoxicillin. So maybe you just need a weeks worth of antibiotics to clear up whatever infection may have caused your lymph nodes to act up. Hope it helps!
