I don't really think you have a bad memory, I do the same thing with my meds sometimes, I think we just have a lot on our minds. Thats why I had to go out and buy one of those daily pill boxes, if I open it up for Monday and the pill is gone I know I have taken it, and vice versa.

Why don't you go to a page for high blood pressure, and do some of the things they aren't supposed to do, to bring yours up.

What do you think of another beta blocker? I know that many work with you blood pressure by dropping your heart rate. Maybe that one just isn't cutting it. What have you tried so far with what results?

The wierdest thing happened with me, every single anti deppresant I have tried (and there have been about 16) and they all end me up in ER with tachycardia, except for Celexa an ssri and Trazodone a Trycyclic anti, but the one I am on now generic prozac/fluoxetine is majorly dropping my heart rate, it likes to hang out in the low 60's or 70's, 80's when I am anxious. I would have never thought I would be here after almost a year of tachycardia, sometimes it's just finding the right med. Hope all is better soon. Talk to you later, Dawn

Toprol is the only beta blocker I have tried so far. I think my Dr. really likes that med because he also prescribed it to a friend of mine and also to someone I used to work with. I'm going to talk to him next week about trying something different because toprol just isn't helping. And, I'm going to insist on trying another med for my anxiety. I can't live like this ~ feeling miserable everyday.

Take care and have a good weekend! Hilery

Toporal is spelled out as a possible interaction with a lot of srri's. I was taking it and my blood pressure was high. I went off of it and was put on Lotensin. My blood pressure then started getting below 100/60 so I bought a wrist tester and went off of Lotensin and found my blood pressure to be fine, around 125/80 with a pulse of around 60. When I go to the doctor, my blood pressure is ALWAYS 160/110 with pulse of around 80. I can take my blood pressure before going into the doctors office and it will be normal. I have tested my wrist tester against the doctors tester and it shows the same 160/110 while in his office. This is white coat syndrome and caused by my anxiety disorder. By the way, as far as low pulse rate, if you have no physical health issues, a lower heart rate is a stronger heart. Athletes have lower heart rates. I have also had a blood pressure one morning of 68/38 with a pulse rate of 36. I felt fine and tested my wife and son to make sure the battery was good in my tester. It showed correct. We changed batteries anyway and in 4 test, it always showed approximately the same. I freaked and went to the hospital and it was up at the 160/110 when I got there. I don't check my blood pressure that often anymore, it tends to become a habit and causes unneccessary panic.

I have been dealing with cluster panic attacks for years now and I am still in the process of learning all I can about the meds, symptoms and side effects. You can never learn enough and being able to read about everything and not get anxiety is part of the process of living with it and someday hopefully the cure. The whole process is basically mind over matter and some people can come out of it in a short time while others take longer or never really get over it. That is not to say that you are weak minded if you can't shake it, you have no control of when and where you will have an attack, so you try to find safe places. That is why it is important that you combine proper meds with proper Therapy. Both are needed in combination, working together to beat or ease the treatment. This is why I have had such a time. I was put on the wrong drugs that had no effect on my anxiety and some were causing me problems, such as the toporol. I have learned that you must set goals for yourself but in small steps so you can achieve them and not create your own failure. Eventually you will get there and for me I am working on looking ahead not behind. I am pleased that you asked how I am doing and I guess I would have to say, "Day to Day, a little at a time". Have a good one and don't worry about every little thing you feel or think about.
