overnight stay afte

Hey I was wondering why I have to stay overnight after having a tonsillectomy. I am 21. If someone takes certain kinds of medication, will that cause them to have to stay. Could I find a dr. to not make me stay???

I believe there is a heightened chance of bleeding after an adult tonsilectomy. They probably want to keep an eye on that.

I have talked to many people about their tonsillectomy (mine is 11/24) and no one, including myself, had to stay overnight. I was told that if you have any problems with bleeding, it wouldn't start until after the scabs fall off, which is like 7 to 10 days after surgery!
