Question Vertigo

I have found out I have vertigo. The doctor prescribed me Meclizine, has anyone taken this. I just wanted to know when it will start to take effect, my doctor said right away but of course everyone is different. I just want to be able to walk in a straight line instead of walking off balance and dizzy.

Cool

Yes - I have taken Meclizine. I always take it when I go on a Cruise for seasickness.

Vertigo, is usually spinning, not just lightheadedness. You should also know that Meclizine is an antihistimine. One of my Nurologists prescribed it for me about 3 years ago and it helped. But not near as much as the Chlorotrimeton that I am now taking.

I forgot to ask the doctor how long I should take the Meclizine. Did you take it for motion sickness or vertigo?

Hi,

I take the Meclizine for motion sickness. I use it for Cruise Ships, Float Planes etc. A doctor also prescribed this for me in my quest for a solution to being lightheaded. He thought it was a inner ear problem. It was not - It was an allergy. But it did help a little because Meclizine is an antihistimine.

When you say you have Vertigo - Do you have any spinning or just lightheaded? - If you are just lightheaded it's usually not vertigo. I think your doctor is doing some major guessing. - What is his specialty?

Question

I suffer from allergies, I caught a secondary bacterial infection and have a inner ear infection. I can't walk in a straight line, I am walking side ways, my balance is off. I have had ear problems as a child. My body is hypersensitive to meds so I am limited to meds for my allergies, I have developed small polyps on my sinus. I went to an allergist, ENT and my regular doctor for the diagnois. My regular doctor said my balance may be off due to my virus. I was also diagnois for perimenopause but that a whole other story....lol. It so sucks to be me right now.
