Re: anyone using duac gel?

I tried using Benzamycin last year. That stuff was brutal on my face...dried me out even when I applied very little. My face became very red and chapped. It was also very difficult for me to apply, always left white streaks.

I know some people have good luck with it, but majority of people do not. The Duac is WAY better for me...goes on easy, doesn't burn or leave my face red, and seems to work better.

Hopefully you have better luck that I did!

Re: anyone using duac gel?

Yeah, it's not easy dealing with acne. I have been dealing with it for about 8 years now and I am still having a hard time controling my emotions when it comes to it. It's stressful along with frustrating, but it will go away and that it what I keep telling myself. I mean we are doing everything right, we went to a derm and got the help that we need and want to get rid of the acne. So now all we have to do is give it some time for the medicine to work.

Acnepain, I really feel for you and I hope this medicine that your derm prescribed is going to work. I am thinking about you and I will say a prayer for you tonight.

Remember to keep your head up and be proud of who you are,

Re: anyone using duac gel?

hey jenguard82, i really need some advice and fast! lol well the peeling that duac causes fer me recently stopped, so im all for it. HOWEVER, this morning when i woke up...everywhere where i apply the cream on my face was red. not like acne red where its inflamation, but just as if someone painted it red. Im hinting that its from dryness of my skin and not to mention im EXTEMELY itchy. Im not on any mostureizers, but that will CERTAINLY change tonight..im wondering, did u experience this too (im on my 10th day) and if so how did u deal, whut came out of it. I need ur help....

Re: anyone using duac gel?

Thanks Jenguard82,

I started using the Benzymicin on Wed night and so far so good. I'm using it very sparingly though as I know it can cause irritation. I'm also thinking of changing my diet to low carbs and see what happens. I also think touching your face causes even more outbreaks so I'm resisting touching it during the day.

Fingers crossed!
