Tell me your experience with Buspar

I took Paxil for chronic anxiety and gained 32 lbs! Never had a weight issue in my life. I am now off of it and would like to try Buspar but I can't find any info on the weight issue. If you have taken it now or in the past can you please tell me if it has caused you to gian weight?

I have been taking Buspar for 3 months and have gained only 5 pounds. I don't believe I gained the weight because
of the buspar but because since I have been taking buspar my irritable bowel syndrome has cleared up and I am not running to the bathroom after I eat. I love the Buspar! I wish you luck with it

Don't know about weight gain, but never take it with Serzone unless you are planning on checking out. I was given it and the drug company had not posted the dangers of taking it with Serzone yet. I could not raise my head up at all and I was lucky that I was to start on a very low dose and work up. Serzone is an evil drug anyway and has no effect on anxiety. Just some input in the event that you take Buspar and later some idot Doctor tries to give you Serzone.

Hi, never drink grapefruit juice with Buspar. Please read your printout or ask the pharmacist! Buspar never helped with my anxiety, but anti-allergy pills, Clarinex has helped with dizzyness and the feeling of being hyper. Small doses of Xanax has helped when I take it with acute anxiety attacks. It takes about two weeks to know if Buspar will help or not. After three weeks of trying it I found it didn't help me.

THanks for the advice everyone. I think I may try it. I do take Xanax as needed but really need something that's is in my system longer.
