Question Re: Dandruff remedies/shampoo?

I have a question. I'm having a really bad dandruff problem right now and I need to colour my hair(I usually color every 1-2 months). With all the flaking going on, do you think coloring my hair will irritate my scalp?

Yes, esp. if you scratch. It will burn very bad and usually intensify the dandruff. I would wait or try an off the scalp technique like a cap or foil highlight to hide the roots. Esp. when scalp is broken or irritated you have a higher chance of allergic reaction. I dont recommend you color at this time.

Re: Dandruff remedies/shampoo?

thanks for the advice.

I think I will put off coloring my hair for now. I just started using Nizoral shampoo last week so hopefully things will improve.

Mind mist-
If you can I have found that a tea tree shampoo (what is working for me is NaturesGate-found at health stores) or the Aubrey organics Sea Buckthorn leave in conditioner (left on the scalp)esp. soothing if you get the extreme itchies after shower. I had no luck with nizoral - I think my prob. may be the ezzcema or psoaisis not the regular dandruff.

Talking Re: Dandruff remedies/shampoo?

Hi Daisy! I use the anti-dandruff Fructis shampoo and I'm very happy with the results. I use it every day with a conditioner (Aussie 3-min Miracle) on the ends and I haven't had the flakies I was plagued with for years - even with the Head and Shoulders brands. I used to worry about wearing dark colors but that's a thing of the past now. Hope this helps!
