Unhappy Eye problems from allergies?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else out there experiences problems with their eyes due to allergies. Mainly foreign body feeling in the eye and sometimes kinda like pressure in my eye and a burning or hot sensation around it. I also experience numbness around and over my left eye from time to time. My eye doc and allergiest say it's allergies, but I get really parinoid about it sometimes and wonder if something else is wrong. I wear contacts so it's very bothersome when my symptoms are at their worst. Anyone have any suggestions on what causes this or what may help. I've been on allergy shots now for a year and take allergy med's too. I've done the saliene rinse thing and nose sprays too. Nothing really seems to help and I can't pinpoint any one thing that causes it or makes it worse. Sorry for the long post, but I get really bummed out about it. P.S. this has been happening on and off now for about 10 years but has gotten worse in the past 2-3 years.

shrew, i never had problems with my eyes until recently. I too get shots and take meds, and a few weeks ago my eye was almost pusy-like and hurt and itched. i went to an eye doc and he gave me some drops (sorry not sure what they were!) and it helped tremendously. a few days ago my eyes started up again and i have been using rewetting drops and i really hope that will help. not sure if this ishelpful, just to let you know that i have had a similar experience.

I have had allergies all my life. When I was 5 I had an allergic reaction to ragweed and the whites of my eyes swelled up and covered my pupil so I couldn't see for a couple of days. This happened again when I was nine. I am now 21 and thankfully it hasn't happened since then but I do have a lot of problems with my eyes. On days when things are really bad my eyes get all goopy and it get harder to focus. When I told my doctor about it he prescribed an allergy eyedrop called Patanol that helps. Sometimes it burns a little at first but it usually helps to dry my eyes up when they are super itchy and watery. I don't know if that will help you at all since you have contacts. But I also keep eyedrops , just over the counter ones, for when my eyes burn because they are too dry. Also I have found that if I wear my glasses or sunglasses outside that helps keep airborn allergens from getting into my eyes. Hope this helps some.

I also have problems with my eyes. My doctor perscribed alergy drops for my eyes and that keeps me from having any symptoms as well as keeps me from getting pink eye.
