Angry Could someone recommend a shampoo to me please?

I have extremely OILY, hair and it drives me crazy. It flakes and it itches sooo bad..I actually make my scalp bleed because I scratch so hard. I can't find a shampoo that helps. I've tried the Nutregena T-Gel. It doesn't help at all. Any recommendations? THanks!

nizoral... lather it in.. let it sit about 5 minutes.. then wash it out.. do it evertime you wash for about a week.. then decrease it to twice a week... when you don't use nizoral (trust me you want to decrease it to twice a week, otherwise it stops working) use loreal fresh vive... it keeps your hair oilfree much longer than any other shampoo.. oh yes.. and once you get it under control.. NEVER sleep with your hair wet.. that just irritates it.

My whole family on my moms side got this stuff... it sucks because it's ALL over our skin.. you can't see it anywhere but the scalp.. but you can tell because if you get sunburned.. your skin itches.. horribly... bent over a bathtub with an SOS pad and rubbing alcohol trying to scrub your skin off itching.. it's just not good.

The only thing that got mine under control was this regimine, before this my scalp would litterally flake off untill it was raw and bleeding. You can use any kind of conditioner you want if your ends get dry.. but don't get it on your scalp. And the nizoral is about $10 a bottle.. but after the first week a little goes a *long long long* way.. and the loreal is pretty cheap so that helps alot.

I've HEARD that tea tree oil dirrectly on the scalp before you wash your hair helps kill it off... but I wouldn't try that untill your scalp is healed otherwise it would burn like crazy on the raw spots.

Wow..thank you so much for taking the time to write all that. I will definantly try everything you suggested. You hit the nail on the head when you said that sleeping with your hair wet will make it worse because sometimes I've not had the time to blow dry my hair and I will just put it up in a ponytail and go...and I've noticed that when I do that my hair will itch 10xs worse during that day. I wonder why it has that effect? Thanks again and I will be getting some Nizoral.

Dampness provides a lovely environment if you are a fungus or bacterium. If it's either of these causing your itching, that would explain why sleeping on a wet head makes it worse.

something else that helps ALOT is head and shoulders conditioner or st. ives hair repair conditioner. They give your scalp a minty, calming, itch free feeling.
