Re: Strattera - Others w. Adult Male Side Effects?

The sleepyness usually lasts one week and then subsides. If it doesn't, ask yor doctor to either let you have Strattera in the evening before bedtime (helps a lot of people dealing with sleepyness) or you can even split the 80 mg dose (the pills are available in several mg increments), and take either 40 mg am, and 40 mg pm or I've heard that people have even better success when taking the larger of the two doses in the am, like in your case 60 mg, and then the smaller one (20 mg) in he am.

Re: Strattera - Others w. Adult Male Side Effects?

My Dr told me that Strattera can affect the prostate. The older one is, the more likely the noticeable effect. this includes ejaculatory effects as well as problems urinating. My doc gave me a sample of Flomax if I had an extremely difficult time urinating. Might talk to your Doc about it. Be forewarned:If you look up the side effects of Flomax you will see that the Flomax can cause priapsism--a painful erection that might last for 4+ hours which could cause permanent damage. My doc also told me i probably would not need the Flomax unless I was taking at least 80/mg day of Strattera. Again, age seems to be a big factor--the older one is, the more the prostate is affected. But trouble urinating is a common side effect--as i understand it.

Iam *not* a Dr--so please talk to your Dr about these concerns.

Sincerely,

mhere

Unhappy I just started on strattera

I am a 23 year old male. After reading this thread I'm scared to have sex. It sounds like the sexual dysfunction is a high frequency thing with men. Oh well, best of luck to all you new strattera users.

Re: Strattera - Others w. Adult Male Side Effects?

Can anybody tellme if the sexual side effects diminish after a while? I know thispost has been up for a while and i wanted to check back to see if the sexual side effects are still as bad as they were when they first started happening...?? I just reached 80mgs and have begun to get all the side-effects mentioned here, unfortunetly. Any info would be appreciated!
