My dermatologist recommended that I only use it every other night, until my skin had adapted to it enough to use it every night. At first, it WAS a mess. Into the second week, my skin looked as though it had a sunburn. Fortunately, I was able to cover it up somewhat with make-up. Then came the peeling... ugghhh. People need to be patient with Tazorac, however, because now when I wake up in the morning, my face feels SO soft and clear. It no longer has the same drying effect, although it keeps most acne from reappearing. It also helps fade scars (somewhat, but don't expect a miracle.) Tazorac also makes my skin sort of... glow would be the best word. My pores look smaller, and overall, I'd rate Tazorac an A++ on results! The one downfall (although it's minute in comparisson to the miraculous results) is that my lips often feel pretty dry. I've only been on Tazorac for a little over a month, so who knows, that might go away too.
So if there's anyone out there who has bad cystic acne, run not walk to your dermatologist and ask for Tazorac. You won't believe the results! (and don't be conned into taking Differin, it's just not as good)
