Re: Aspirin Mask is working great! Must try!

Buffguy- the easiest way to crush the pills is not to crush them at all...but instead to put them in your palm with a tiny bit of warm water--they will crumble after a few seconds. Another option is to put the pills in a plastic zip-type baggie. close the bag then hit the pills through it with something hard. A rolling pin from the kitchen works well. I like the first option i gave though.

I just tried my first one about 5 hrs ago. But, if you want a test dummy to give you the thumbs up on what I think, I am totally there. I just know I am going to try...I am like that.

I like the exfoliating properties, I was thinking about using it with my normal cleanser.

But lemon juice and honey...it might make it stay on better. I will get back to you on that one.

Omygosh I used lemon instead of water and mixed it along with the aspirin to form a paste, the dabbed it onto my entire face (it stung a little bit)... and today when I woke up to take a shower.. my skin felt so incredibly smooth, and my acne is healing up very nicely!!!! I love this mask!

Re: Aspirin Mask is working great! Must try!

I wondered about using lemon juice instead of water. But my skin is generally too sensitive for lemon juice. However, since the Roaccutane's kicked in a bit I don't have any angry cysts or gaping, healing wounds so it might not be so bad.

I've been using this along with just Dial Antibacterial Gold Soap Bar... and the results have been amazing! I'm happy to say, that I have now officially stopped trying out all these OTC's and what not. Never been on oral medication, so I can not comment on that.

In addition to this, all I do is:

-Drink ~2 liters of water/day

-Exercise 20 mins in the am cardio/20mins pm cardio w/ weight training*** a
great stress reliever

-Take a regular multivitamin centrum

- Take 30mg of Zinc Tablets/day

- Take 1 500mg Vit. C/day

- diet, eat normally... although I try to keep the carbs to a minimum and try to abstain from the sugar period!

For those of you who have tried this, I'd like to hear your comments as well...
Any tips n' tricks would be great!

What you need to do to make this mask:

1. Crush up ~6 aspirin tablets (non enteric coated, i.e. Bayer) into a powder form.

** I have also heard instead of crushing the tablets, you can just add a few drops to the tablets until they dissolve.

2. Next drop by drop, add water to this mixture until it forms a creamy paste.
(You can use something like a spoon or toothpick to mix)

3. Next apply to cleansed and dry skin.

** Note this mask is not a "true mask" ... it will go on a little tough and dry, and you might notice some flaking of the powder. I have heard from other people, to perhaps add a few drops of aloe vera or use it in conjunction with a plain clay mask.

4. Leave on your face for ~15-20mins...

5. Before washing... you wet your clean finger tips with tepid water and gently rub to promote a great exfoliating experience.

6. Rinse face w/ tepid water, and pat dry... you can apply some moisturizer if you like.

7. Use it how and when you need. I do one every other day. It's pretty quick and cheap!

***** Important Note ****

****DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS IF YOUR ALLERGIC TO ASPIRIN!!!!****

****PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD BE VERY CAUTIOUS AND CONSULT THEIR DOCTOR PRIOR TO USING THIS**********

hope this helps
Alright, I tried this, but I'm not sure if I mixed it to the correct consistency. It was still pretty chunky, and wasn't really much of a cream when I put it on, and when I took it off I don't see any obvious effect. My skin isn't even smooth.

When you said it mixed into a cream... is it really creamy (this is just aspirin and warm water, correct?) or is still chunky?
